Avery + Lottie was born from a passion for gift-giving and a desire for high-quality, handmade products. Over the years, I’ve gifted and received numerous pre-made, generic baskets. While I appreciated the thought, the products were often not well made or not reusable. In fact, I rarely used half of the items, which felt like a waste. Of course, it's not the fault of the gift givers; that's simply what's available now.

 

Determined to create unique and thoughtful gifts, I decided to start making my own baskets and boxes for friends and family. I scoured the internet, local stores, markets, and farms to source items from small businesses that would fit the occasion and the recipient. My goal was to create unique gift baskets that featured as many handmade products or items sold by small businesses as possible.

 

I also wanted to ensure that the items in the baskets were both useful and reusable. After all, what’s the point of giving someone a gift that they’ll likely discard? Everyone loved the baskets, and I enjoyed the process of creating them. Thus, Avery + Lottie was born.
